About Us

The Hearsay Story

For more than a decade we’ve been turning Texas’ most storied spaces into rooms worth gathering in — vintage swagger, modern indulgence, and hospitality that feels like home.

Our Story

Where history meets modern indulgence

Founded in 2008 by Dr. Lucky A. Chopra and Landmark Hospitality Group, Hearsay was born from a passion for revitalizing historic spaces and transforming them into vibrant dining destinations.

Our flagship lives inside the W.L. Foley Building — Houston’s second-oldest standing commercial structure, designed by Texas architect Eugene T. Heiner in 1889 and given new life in 1994. Exposed handmade brick, vaulted ceilings, and antique chandeliers set the stage for our signature “chic antique” style: vintage swagger meets contemporary flair.

What We Believe

Our Values

Four ideas guide every room we open and every plate we send out.

Genuine Hospitality

Every guest is treated like family — warm, attentive, and never rushed. The welcome is the whole point.

Chic Antique

Vintage character meets contemporary flair. Each room carries its own history and a little drama.

Seasonal Craft

Chef-driven American plates and handcrafted cocktails, made from scratch with what’s in season.

Rooted in Community

We restore landmark spaces and invest in the neighborhoods — and people — that surround them.

Meet the Founder

We don’t just open restaurants — we breathe new life into the places that made a city.

A physician by training and a restorer of historic buildings by passion, Dr. Chopra founded Hearsay with a simple conviction: that great hospitality and great architecture belong together.

Under his vision, Landmark Hospitality Group has grown Hearsay from a single downtown landmark into a family of singular rooms across Texas — each one preserving the past while setting a new standard for how Texas gathers, dines, and celebrates.
